With the new year comes a brand new 4-H horse calendar with many ways that youth can get involved in mounted and unmounted 4-H horse activities. The 4-H horse program is a large collaboration between faculty and staff at the University of Georgia, both at the state and county level, as well as many great volunteer leaders across the state. We invite you to peruse the following articles that highlight some of the major horse programs available for youth to participate in. Please note that some events (such as the State 4-H Horse Show) have deadlines that are approaching soon (intent to show forms due on March 1). The articles in this month’s special edition are meant to provide information on the format of some of the different activities and contests available through Georgia 4-H as well as important dates to be aware of. More information on these programs is available through local county extension offices around the state.
